Massive escalation at the Portland ICE facility. Worst I’ve ever seen. More pepper balls than I can count. Teargas in the middle of crowd. Violent arrests. Some type of either noise or rubber bullet shotgun fired into the air then later aimed at protesters chests/heads at near point blank range.

Willian is one of several who allege they were “choked, thrown around, punched, slapped and otherwise struck after they were handcuffed and brought into a security room at the Home Depot,” by off-duty CPD officers working as security.
Willian Gimenez was abducted by ICE yesterday in Chicago. He had been part of a lawsuit against off-duty police and Home Depot employees for abusing day laborers. Latino Union says he was targeted for advocating for his rights as a worker. @bloomekatz.bsky.social and I report.

Also a great example of one of the core benefits of unionization, which is just "creating a structure for discussion and systems to make collective decisions." Always much harder to get action at scale like this if there isn't already organization.
