Because there are no residual payments on videogames, many actors rely on convention appearances as a replacement income.
Because cons = $, cons have begun expecting talent to make it through YOU (no appearance fee).

Now imagine any developer actively trying to use AI VO to save money wanting to offer something like that.

Don't remember which game (GBF:Relink?) but when we finished, the talk button was still open and I heard new engineer I'd not worked with comment something like "That was over 200 cues in 45 minutes!"

AI can't do that. It can't understand the words or the characters it's "voicing." It can't understand your intent and has no intent of its own. You need a real actor to do this.

If I might mumble about this in relation to philosophies re: skill acquisition or proficiency:
In my mind, the idea of ever declaring "mastery" as a fixed point—"I have learned all I need to know"—is antithetical to retaining proficiency *and* continued intellectual and practical skill development.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

The platform is employing a form of soft censorship to keep us from communicating with one another, specifically posts that could be problematic for the powers that be.

Next select Settings, and then Moderation on the next screen. At the bottom of the Moderation page under "Advanced" is a section called "Bluesky Moderation Service" that looks like an info box. It in fact leads to more settings.
