If we opened people up, we'd find landscapes. If we opened me up, we'd find beaches" - Agnés Varda 🌊
First sea swim of 2025 ✅ Ardmore, you were nothing short of gorgeous.

My godfather took a massive stroke two days ago. I owe this man everything.

He’s alive, but in ICU sedated and ventilated.

Trying to hold it together and putting on face for the 5 year old, but I’m struggling hard. It feels like the bottom has fallen out of the world, but in a numbing way.

It's the time of the year when "Do They Know it's Christmas?" randomly pops up on the spotify holiday playlist and I'm shocked *once again* at how utterly tone deaf and condescending it is. I know I'm not breaking any new ground but MY GOD.

I refuse to take him off the top of my tree.

Headline reading “President Michael D Higgins’ final Christmas message” just gave me a very sad feeling. Having him in office these last few years has made a huge difference to the country. He’s a necessary corrective to the neoliberal diet we get everywhere else. Losing him will be very difficult.

I can't stress how much reading this story has become a Christmas tradition for me. Everything Caspar says about it is true. If this is your first time, I can only state my jealousy.

Also want to take this opportunity to shout out Ireland's public libraries. Not everyone can afford to buy books. But the library is 100% free and every time you rent a book from them the author gets paid royalties. If your local library isn't currently carrying the book you want, ask at the desk

Challenged myself this year to read 25 non-fiction books, and I reckon I should finish on 28.5ish.

I set some ground rules:
- I had to read physical copies of all books, and purchased them independent bookstores (Books Upstairs & Chapters mostly).

Must have indulged in a tad too much sugar last night watching #latelatetoyshow. My dreams were off the wall last night! 😂

Wee fella is fading FAST.

The sugar rush evidently dissipating.

Patrick Kielty is just a million times better with kids. It makes for far more comfortable viewing.

This actually amuses me every single year. About 68 solid days of listening.

A life without music would be a very sad and sorry place. And life for me feels weird if I can’t hear music … like I feel a little bit on edge? … probably a diagnosis in there somewhere 😂😂

Spotify Wrapped casually calling out my annual slip into seasonal depression.

In fairness though, Amble, Ye Vagabonds and Alfi were solidly on my soundtrack for the year. Amazing Irish artists.
