This part in particular shows that Klein’s whole worldview stems from someone to whom life has never been unfair. There’s always been a way to “win.”
And I don't take any joy in saying this, but we sometimes soothe ourselves by pointing out that love, acceptance and warmth are powerful forces. I believe they are. I also believe hate is a powerful force. I believe it's a powerful, unifying force. And I think Charlie Kirk was a hatemonger. I really need to say this over and over again. I have a politic that rejects violence, that rejects political violence. I take no joy in the killing of anyone, no matter what they said. But if you ask me what the truth of his life was — and the truth of his public life — I would have to tell you it's hate. I'd have to tell you it is the usage of hate and the harnessing of hate toward political ends. Then let me flip that question a bit. Why are we losing? We're losing because there are always moments when we lose. See, that feels very fatalistic to me. It doesn't feel fatalistic to me. It feels like the truth. Let me express what I mean.

Stephen Lynch of Massachusetts - the second in line in seniority among Democrats behind D.C. Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton - about covering for him on the dias until a permanent replacement is elected. He has asked Lynch to begin that stint at the Wednesday markup of the panel's portion of the GOP's massive tax, border and energy bill. Congressman Stephen Lynch, known for his anti-abortion and pro-charter school stance, has represented the Southie-anchored 8th Congressional District for two decades. Before arriving in Washington, Lynch was arrested for drunkenly attacking a group of Iranian students protesting U.S. intervention abroad, and went on to provide pro-bono legal counsel to a gang of white teenagers accused of violence and harassment of an interracial couple. Later, in 1996, Lynch would introduce a "gay_panic" amendment to lower the penalties for homophobic hate crimes. The most notable piece of legislation forwarded by Congressman Bill Keating, a New Dem caucus member and 10-year incumbent representing Cape Cod, is H.R. 1814, extending the Affordable Care Act's individual mandate exemption to Christian Scientists.

The New York Times is greenlighting the use of AI for its product and editorial staff, saying that internal tools could eventually write social copy, SEO headlines, and some code. In messages to newsroom staff, the company announced that it's opening up Al training to the newsroom, and debuting a new internal Al tool called Echo to staff, Semafor has learned. The Times also shared documents and videos laying out editorial do's and don't for using Al, and shared a suite of Al products that staff could now use to develop web products and editorial ideas.
