Pasin said that paid parental leave “should be available to parents and that it should be available to people who had wished to become parents but for the grace of God have not become parents through an incident or outcome”. But, he said, “it shouldn’t be available to people who don’t wish to become parents”. One Nation senator Pauline Hanson has long been pushing this debate out to the extremes, as she is wont to do. Previously, Hanson has accused the Labor government of “funding the murder of healthy babies where Australian women can terminate a pregnancy up to the day before birth … and access to paid parental leave of up to $22,754”.

Lush Australia followed the UK example yesterday, closing all their stores for a day in solidarity with Gaza and posting signs in their windows to explain why. Except that if you walked past Lush in a Westfield shopping centre you may not have known because many centres blacked out the signs.

ABC now running completely untrue propaganda for America and Israel. The bombing hasn’t stopped and it has been widely reported that Netanyahu said to his own people they wouldn’t stop pretty much as soon as trump asked him to.

This is wild. I have been going to protests for decades and not once have I put my name on a fucking RSVP list lol. Why would you do that? This response is part of days of outrage after a black woman discouraged protest RSVPs btw. I have some concerns about the fight back from the left in the US.

It's useful to have a good list of people willing to show up to stuff, because that's a great tool for additional organizing. Claiming that collecting info makes you a "fed," like Gandy said, is deranged. Will Stancil It's a misperception so great, and so harmful, that I really have to assume anyone who makes that claim has never come within a hundred miles of any form of real organizing. The signup and attendance sheet is, like, the strongest organizing technology ever built.

I saw a garbage bag of individual breast milk pouches dumped in the park yesterday and it made me so sad. There were loads of them, all with the amount and date pumped. I know how time consuming and exhausting it would have been to collect such precious liquid. How did it end up dumped in the park?

What they call their "community ecosystem" interlinks businesses with charitable entities, which rely heavily on retaining their tax-free status.

His family profit from and exploit the Australian housing market to the tune of $800 million, yet try to pin the blame for working class Australians' housing woes on migrants. It's a trick as old as time, and sections of Australia's ruling class are still adept at turning economic frustration to their advantage. All this has paved the way for populist and nationalist politics.
