NY Times article headline: With Attack on Consumer Bureau, Musk Removes Obstacle to His XMoney' Vision Former officials at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau said Elon Musks payment- business aspirations were driving his efforts to hobble the agency. A post I made on another platform stating: So, everyone knows about Elon's (and Thiel's) plan for a single, universal, social media and payment system (including social capital) similar to what China has, right? His goal, along with all the crypto championing he has done, is to disrupt payment systems and centralize them within his platforms. This isn't conspiracy, but pretty well known, at least in the tech community. It's just a little tidbit of info as we expedite our move toward oligarchy.

@feministajones.com I am reposting you from Threads. This is such an important pov. If we abandon communities & spaces we've built over years we allow them to shrink our voices & relegate us away into marginalized places. I have high hopes for bsky, but progressive voices need to be pervasive.
Image is of a feministajones post on Threads: Have any of you considered that the changes to Twitter, META, etc are intentional to get you to abandon the communities you have cultivated? Communities that have shown themselves to be powerful and they intentionally make these changes to destroy our communities. They don't care abt losing money--they have enough $$. They don't care. But WE care and WE need these spaces to stay connected. NONE of them are actually "good". We been doing the best we can. Block. Mute. Go.

What is stopping us from starting a revolution?!
From user: dorotheasclosetvintage on Threads: A friend of mine posted this on FB "The day my husband passed away, I drove myself home from the Cancer Center for the last time (my own choice. I wanted to be alone). After sitting with my husband in a hospital room as he left this world & then sitting with his body while paperwork was completed, as people came and went, telling me things I needed to know but did not hear, watching as someone finally came to take him away from me for the final time, I was driving home to life without him." /1 I was in a state of complete shock. My cell phone rang and for some reason I answered. It was a rep from United Healthcare calling to give me the "exciting news" that they had decided to cover the medication that might have saved my husband's life. She was positively giddy. After a month of me begging them to approve the medication, and his cancer progressing daily, they finally said yes...but it was too late in the most final way possible." /2 That medicine is the wonder drug that saved Jimmy Carter and has helped him live for as long as he has. It would have very likely done the same for her husband. I post this as a real life reminder of the horrific grief, suffering and death that has come for years at the hands of health insurance companies- those claims denied that keep money from going OUT to help people, being hoarded instead by the wealthy at the top of the company.
