Looking into #bus deregulation today...

Fun fact: Many of the bus companies started when WWI soldiers returned (the learnt engineering and driving). There were so many that they ate into rail profit leading to the creation of the big 4 railway companies!

New @natclimate.nature.com study on climate belief systems worldwide:
⁉️Middle East & North Africa shows more inconsistent beliefs, due(?) to economic interests
📨Societies with more information exposure → tighter climate belief networks
🚫Interconnected beliefs corr. with anti-climate stances

It's so lovely to see how the users of my local library of things has grown over the years. A fantastic resource and place of community. A reason to be optimistic this morning :) Thanks Share Bristol

It's rather hot in Europe 🥵 atm! #Climate communicators should keep in mind these 10 guidelines (from Climate Ressillience for All) & 7 core principles (from @climatevisuals.bsky.social )to communicate these #heatwaves with the severity they deserve.

Join me at poster #72 today at #ICEP2025 ! I'll be presenting results from my first study exploring the role of employers and local authorities in #TDM . Good news - employees largely prefer more effective behaviour change interventions!

Multiple representations can triangulate understanding and build a more complete mental model of #sustainability...

Today is the UK’s #Earth #OvershootDay. If everyone lived like the UK, our consumption would exceed the planet's capacity today 👣>🌍

I've been at the @mobilityways.bsky.social conference on zero carbon commuting today. #ZC3 is always a favourite of mine, and this year has been no different! I've gathered my highlights, favourite facts, and thoughts in a thread🧵

Went to the #Bath ebike demo day yesterday 🚲⚡🪫 Really helpful to test what works for your needs.

I'd love to run a small study to assess how it changes people's perception of #ebikes. Field interviews + attendance data seems feasible!

Great to see people enjoying the track :)

We have a really exciting day of #EnTS tomorrow!
In the AM Matteo Menapace joins us to play #Daybreak with us.
In the PM Jack Hodgkiss teaches us how Daybreak is used to explore the impact of game play on cognitive understanding, affective response, and behavioural engagement.
Then... we workshop 😍

Riel, Kouvelas & Makiridis found reasons to be optimistic - transparency has been improving in recent years...

but it doesn't seem like transparency is linked to more citations 👎

We can do better!

Really pleased to see the #accessibility work going on at #Bristol Temple Meads - Station Innovation Zone.
They've just selected two 'innovators' for a 6-month trial. Journey Alerts seems like it could have a serious 'curb cut effect' and a service like Ampetronic seems long overdue 😍

Research incubator on #carClubs with #IAAPS today. Incl some fab stats on benefits of alternative models of #car ownership. Love Daniel McCool's analogy of #modalChoice as a swiss army knife. Pick the right tool for the job!

Thank you #SPSP2025 for a wonderful (and really well organised) conference in gorgeous #Denver. The sustainability pre-conference and workshop on Q methodology were my highlights! Lovely to connect with new and familair faces again ☺️

🚦 Did you know the UK leads Europe... in traffic delays? Inrix’s global #traffic scorecard shows 3 UK cities in Europe’s top 10 for delays.

In the Southwest, #Bath & #Bristol delays grew by 1% and 5%. With rising congestion, Travel Demand Management is crucial to tackle gridlock and climate change.

Super creative ideas from the kids today about how we can travel in the future. My favourite re-imaginings are a "sofa river" and a jet pack fuelled by cow manure 😄
