Not sure how I feel about every legacy media company becoming a game platform for herbs and nerds but whatever keeps the lights on I guess

Hard to underestimate the societal damage we've done establishing computers as essentially an infallible productivity device for the better part of a century, and then flipping the switch on them to "Notorious lying machine."
a few months ago I said "having generative AI handle absolutely anything with regards to healthcare is a nightmare and should be banned" and a bunch of people made fun of me and called me stupid. anyways,

It's annoying that I'd love to return to fun, baroque design and I firmly believe esthetic minimalism is death... but then this fucking guy is putting Live, Laugh, Love balloon letters in the Lincoln Bedroom and ruining it for everyone.
This, in particular, is spectacularly hideous. It's like something you'd see on the wall of a car dealership where they put pictures of their top salespeople every month

Props to Zohran, whose upcoming election victory was so traumatizing it made Dick Cheney's baboon heart valves explode

Imagine spending all this money, both in propganda production and the equipment and training, on sanitation departments and the post office; government agencies that are 1,000x more important to our daily lives
Add a dose of propaganda to your morning coffee.. This smells of Russian-like “special operation”

This is so funny "A correction: The discussion about Batman villains was between two men, Stavros Halkias and Nick Mullen, not three. Adam Friedland was not involved in that episode."
The comedian Stavros Halkias is hitting career milestones and attempting to pivot from online fame to mainstream roles. But he finds himself in a golden-handcuffs situation. nyti.ms/3JzWegA

Very odd framing of this problem, where the antisemitism is very much adjacent to why these guys love Nazism. There's quite a bit to that ideology that isn't "Jews are bad" that's attractive to the rightwing, and if you can't reckon with that at all you can't begin to solve any of this.

There is real and growing recognition — at conservatism’s highest levels — that they have an antisemitism problem.

It raises a troubling question: Why do so many of the party’s youth operatives get seduced by neo-Nazism?

is this how CBS is gonna work now? using bari weiss's personal blog to launder poorly sourced and lightly edited stories (complete with a misspelling of mamdani's name in the headline) that would never pass muster if reported directly by a real news source?
CBS News would never put a thinly sourced 'story' by a rookie blogger like this on it's air. Until now. The Free Press isn't a journalism outlet, it's bloggers aren't reporters. This piece is more NYPost than Tiffany Network but I guess that's the goal.

The Free Press spoke to several New York City Police Department officers who are worried about Zohran Mamdani becoming mayor. Olivia Reingold joins CBS News with more.

While Democrats are mostly feckless and worthless as politicians, I do sympathize with the threatening paradox of their position. The more aggressively they act in promising legal retribution for the administration's crimes, the more incentive the administration has never to allow elections at all.

As one of the countless people *actually* cancelled by Bari Weiss, via her vast favor-trading networks of fellow nepotistic gatekeepers in media and publishing, I think both of these asinine dipshits should go fuck themselves.

These guys are so used to talking to the hogs, they don't want to reckon that the military officer class is all college-educated "elites" and (most) hold themselves to an incredibly high professional standard.

There's not going to be any applause lines or laughter or hooting for this shit.

Our best hope is a young American Gaddafi is sitting in this audience, making side-eyes at his best, most tactical friends in silent agreement on what has to be done.
Hegseth: "It all starts with physical fitness and appearance. If the secretary of war can do regular hard PT, so can every member of our joint force. Frankly, it's tiring to look out at combat formations and see fat troops. Likewise, it's completely unacceptable to see fat generals and admirals."
