His teacher was at the dome until 1 am. She told me the whole class will have a lot of quiet play time today. I'm okay with it.
Just turned around to find my 6 year old on the stairs watching the game. Guess we're all going to be tired tomorrow

My 6yo made the 8u AA baseball team he tried out for and I don't think I knew I could feel this proud. He's the youngest and smallest kid on the team. He worked endlessly all summer so he could make this team.

My kid has his first rep baseball tryouts tomorrow and I didn't know I could be this nervous about something I'm not even doing

My kid spent the first 4 innings of this Jays game yelling at Robbie Ray that his pants are too tight

A proud mom moment- he's the youngest kid to make his league's all star game, starting at first base.

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

Hey, did you know there's an alternative to ChatGPT that makes sense economically and doesn't destroy the environment?
It's called English majors and they will happily fix all of your documents for the low price of health insurance and a living wage.

I told my almost 6yo if he works really hard he may be be a rookie on the Blue Jays in Vladdy's last year. He's decided that is now his life goal.

I've been at a resort in the Dominican this week and I've learned that I have absolutely been taking Canada's public smoking laws for granted all these years.

My 5yo asked me why none of his friends want to do burpees and mountain climbers at recess and I don't know how to break it to him that he's the weird one here

Some fascinating history for Fear and Anxiety week: a thread on how the ancient Mesopotamians regarded and treated anxiety conditions.
I’ve spent most of my life steeped in anxiety, and one thing that made me feel less alone was knowing how unsurprisingly not new anxiety and related experiences are.

It’s in fragments, but this is one of many clay texts from ancient Mesopotamia that describes anxiety (possibly depression)

My 5yo's bedtime book this week was about the Curse of the Bambino. We read about the Red Sox winning 4 v the Yanks and sweeping the Cards to win the WS. He looks at me and says "that was SO great. Can more teams be cursed so I can be that excited??" Luckily he's in a family of Toronto sports fans.

I'm once again asking for a show where a librarian, a bookseller, and a carpenter travel around helping people manage their out-of-control book collections. Discuss their sentimental value, their rarity, their histories, then build amazing book nooks and shelves and little libraries to organize them

@elisegravel.bsky.social I bought It's My Brain for my son and I just wanted to say thank you. This beautiful book made me sob and I can't wait to share it with my kid who is having trouble figuring his brain out

I talked for almost ten minutes to a guy I used to know whose name I couldn't remember at Grand Central Station -- my family, his family, where we were going for the holidays. Three hours later I realized we were not friends, and he was in fact Alec Baldwin
Twitter is doing “best celebrity interactions” discourse so we should do WORST ones

not necessarily like that they were a jerk, just that the interaction itself was a fail on some level

like one time Robert Sean Leonard walked past me and I short-circuited so badly I spilled guacamole on myself
