So they didn’t like the ad. Let’s just post Reagan’s 5 min speech against tariffs as it appears on YouTube.

Thanks so much! It’s appreciated. Lots of great content in that thread! 🙏
On a related note: one of the reasons I get excited about workshops like these is b/c they give the public an opportunity to see at a high-level some of the amazing science going on and what researchers are thinking about. It's also why I live post it - to help spread the word 😊.

Thanks for all these posts! Did they mention Michael Levin’s work on bioelectrical signaling and/or active inference when hypothesizing about principles of brain body interactions? www.molbiolcell.org/doi/epdf/10....

So much to know about how the body communicates with the brain. Sigh, I really should have paid more attention in science class. 😁😂
Today and tomorrow 11a-3p EST, I'll be live posting this terrific workshop. It's open to all! So register at this link if you'd like to watch too (or follow this 🧵 for the highlights).

Agenda: 16 presentations + overviews, discussions, recaps and reviews.

Have we forgotten the Moral Majority tactics of the 80s? Or the countless moral panics of any age? Saying one side or the other invented cancel culture is the most historically uniformed opinion of the left today. Policing the boundaries of culture is literally inherent to having a culture.
Good lord, these dudes will never understand that the whole *point* of the "cancel culture" moral panic in which they participated was to create a permission structure for the current crackdown.

Chait et al were used, precisely to produce this outcome, & they'll never, ever look it in the face.

I’m much more aligned to this view of the brain as someone in mass comms. Just saw a post on LI where someone seems to be selling the “your brand lives in this brain area” approach. If it was that easy, someone would have taken over the world with that approach. Luckily, the brain is not so simple.

You can't imprison everyone with a dissenting thought.

Or inconvenient factual observation.

But fear teaches self censorship. It's a scalable system of control.
