So… international trade professional here… I remember NAFTA being replaced by USMCA pretty vividly since it affected my actual day to day… I’ve been saying for years now that this idiot knows nothing of trade. Now I’m just wondering if he has dementia.

Correct. When Trump was in office the 1st time I saw the demise of small businesses who could not afford this tax upfront. Large corporations can - seems like they found it more cost effective to pay those taxes and continue on with slave labor for manufacturing than bringing those jobs back here.
Don't let Trump fool you—tariffs are TAXES. And American businesses will be stuck either eating the extra cost of these import taxes, or will raise prices on YOU.

Correct. When Trump was in office the 1st time I saw the demise of small businesses who could not afford this tax upfront. Large corporations can - seems like they found it more cost effective to pay those taxes and continue on with slave labor for manufacturing than bringing those jobs back here.
