The anatomy of the upset, per precinct-level data:
• Ewing more than doubled up Stothert's vote total (+15,000) in the four Democratic-held city council districts.
• Stothert only got ~4,000 more votes than Ewing in the three GOP-held districts (her historic base).

In October, we wrote about the Nebraska Independent, a pop-up newspaper backed by left-leaning dark money that media observers dubbed "pink slime" — a partisan operation posing as a news outlet.

The editor said the publication "will be able to continue beyond 2024." It has not.
