I started speaking English to her. And she tried to translate it via a phone app, but it was pretty bad. I thought screw it I'm trying my high school French and as far as I can tell she appreciated it. I clearly made myself understood. :-)

When Laban finally goes to the hairdresser (was hard to get an appointment - we've learnt our lesson now, gotta book way in advance) we want her to cut bangs on him, like that. Now, he's got this long head hair that needs to be put up in a ponytail. NOT convenient.

People say just using it for stuff like writing abstracts is a great time saver, but if your paper is well structured, writing an abstract is very quick work. If you get stuck at the abstract, this might hint at deeper problems you should SOLVE, even if it's hard.

Recommended for anyone who likes black comedy and body horror and has a strong stomach for the latter.

Normally, in movies, the disabled gotta be cured, or DIE at the end. This way, the audience can feel nicely sad and bittersweet about their death, instead of disturbed by having their weird bodies, tragic pains etc STILL AROUND.

For instance, would have been easy to just flip everything and make Cinderella evil. Instead, she starts out kinda bitchy, but you still feel for her when everything goes to shit. The titular ugly stepsister does become a bully, but she's such a victim herself that you feel for her too.

I thought the movie was great!

Everyone keeps comparing it to the Substance, and the reasons are obvious, but I think this one had more depth to it. Even though everything was turned up to eleven and heavily caricatured, the characters still felt more like real people, somehow. (1/4)
