Canadian/Brit(-ish). Weird. Tired. Happy.
10 seconds of traffic mayhem from last week’s trip. It’s like a mad, beautiful ballet that I 100% do not understand. 🚗 🏍️ 🛺

So, let's try doing #duvetknowitschristmas here this evening? People are literally Driving Home For Christmas right now, which MIGHT JUST mean that they'll be sleeping somewhere unusual. 1/

Sent to Whamhallah at Starbucks this morning. Taking it as a good indication that I’ve been out experiencing the world and Christmas Cheer enough to hear the full roster of carols. 🎄 🎶 #whamageddon

Good morning to everyone EXCEPT the bitter jobsworth working on the Brussels Air gate this morning who made me gate-check my bag for this half-empty flight. I wish for you nothing but a string of socks with nubby toe-seams that give you blisters.

Yes, lots of people died at Pompeii and Herculaneum when Vesuvius erupted in A.D. 79 - but what about the far greater number of people who survived? Where did they go?

Fascinating archaeology article about how people moved on after major disasters in the ancient world:

“Crazy little thing called love” by Queen.

And frankly, the entire rockabilly genre can get in the sea!

Apparently I am “turned wrong and now my entire back has seized up” years old.
Now taking recommendations for all your woo woo cures and offerings, because regular drugs aren’t quite cutting it.

Ooh I’ve got one.

I stayed at the Royal College of Physicians’ accommodation for an event. Travelling solo and tucked up in bed, sleeping (though not well), when at 3am the bathroom light switched on.

I did the only sensible thing and hid under the covers. It switched off again around 3:20.
Bluesky, let’s tell our ghost stories. Quote tweet with yours.

First night I returned to Victoria in 2020, I went down to the harbour at midnight, fresh from the airport.

All alone, I felt a hand push my back right shoulder. There was no one for 500 metres.

I walked FAST back to my hotel.
