The Texas oligarchs (look them up) didn’t want Ken Paxton impeached, so he was fully acquitted. The state is fully owned and run by several billionaire donors, and families’ safety was likely threatened which is how these people roll. #txlege

Keep this in mind. Even if a wider invasion isn’t a realistic goal/danger due to NATO’s strength and deterrence, the general’s statement lays bare russia’s hostile posture. Plus, they're not threatened; they think they're entitled to controlling big parts of Europe.

All of David Frum’s Tweet thread about what dipshit Musk did with Starlink in Ukraine is important. And for the record, Musk’s argument about not wanting to be complicit in an act of war is BS. The moment he took the Pentagon contract, he was complicit. He should never have this type of power.

"The US health system is expensive and inefficient, even if you ignore the extraordinary administrative costs that are simply delegated to users of health services. If you live in America, you are required to serve as your own healthcare navigator through this complex system."
New, from me: A pair of Stanford/MIT economists recently argued for universal health care in the NYT, reasoning that the complexity of the current system excludes too many.

I describe how this reflects a shift in how the field thinks about burdens.

A political psychologist I know says the root of right-wing- militia anger is that they no longer control women.

Think of it: 100 years ago, any man could get a woman. Incel wasn't a thing: women were entirely dependent on men.
She was a child-free woman enjoying her Saturday. Then came the culture warriors.
A short TikTok video about making eggs and watching TV turned into a flashpoint within the internet's larger culture war over women and societal expectations.
