I built the new Lego set, the Azure Kingfisher! I've never seen it in real life, but the Lego bird is absolutely gorgeous, with incredible details! So much fun 😍

In 2024, I'm hoping to do more freelancing and try to engage more on this site (aka figure it out). But I'm also really looking forward to getting outside more with friends and family! Cheers to the new year!

But the thing I'm probably the most proud of (at least professionally) in 2023: my Audubon Magazine feature about field safety and unpaid labor disproportionately affecting marginalized groups. Add these to your 2024 reading list!

I love to bake and this year my husband, probably overwhelmed with the sheer quantity of baked goods, encouraged me to start tracking recipes I've made. So, I started a Google sheet where I rate them and make notes, and apparently I made 75 recipes in 2023 (18 different cookies in Dec)!

Besides the usual news & climate change doom, 2023 was a ROLLER COASTER for me: We left Maine because my husband's job had no work-life balance, my Mom had emergency heart surgery (she's now doing great), & my Grandpa died. But there were positives that I'm trying to focus on. We got a pup, Elly! 😍

My little pup, Elly, was oh so supportive in writing the captions for this gallery...she only tried to nibble on my laptop a few times 😂

Debuting here with my latest Audubon Magazine story! I interviewed the delightful Alexis Nikole Nelson, known as "Black Forager" to her followers, about foraging for wild plants. Check out her tips on how to get started, and even try cooking her tasty acorn pancakes! www.audubon.org/news/foragin...
