Today was the 1st day of lockdown for all of us. As a nation we have a collective shared trauma of Covid. If you lost a loved one you are part of an awful club where today is the start of an unimagined grief . Pls watch this doc tomorrow @mrjamesob.bsky.social @thejeremyvine.bsky.social

It really feels this week that we’ve slowly crawled out of a long, dark cold winter. It’s so good for the soul to feel the warm sunshine & see spring flowers blooming. You know you’re Middle Aged when your obsessed with lasagna bulb results

I have won the squirrel vs the me/the bulbs battle! It’s been hard fought. The squirrel is devious, taunts my dog on a daily basis with its crafty ways. This year it messed with the wrong gardener. Deployed netting all winter over bulbs & have defeated the squirrel (for now)with spring flowers. 🥇🥇🌸🌷

Toady is the National Day of Covid reflection . An incredible beautiful, sad & poignant event held & organised by @covidmemorialwall.bsky.social . It’s a very odd & strange thing to be part of a group of collective grief & share trauma. #FiveYearsOn

The weather of the first lockdown was unreal- it felt like the longest summer ever. The pain of homeschooling to primary school kids with no provision from their school for nearly 2 terms. Online quizzes. Online group cooking. My kids made this list about their lockdown at end of 2020 #fiveyearson

Gorgeous! We also got our first pet just as lockdown started. I honestly don’t know how we would have weathered the lockdowns without her. The comfort she gave us all. The home school distraction for the kids

I can’t tell you how much I love the new overground line names & how much it makes my life easier! My daughter catches the lioness line everyday to go to school. It’s so much easier to check train info when each overground line is given its own identity

All over the news, online & radio, stories of net migration . We are continually being told this is a problem (“problem”that hasn’t really changed in the last decade. We’ve just been “awoken” to it). Not one brave politician coming out with the counter argument : our aging population needs migrants

I had this at the weekend. All be it snowed in a remote part of the Lakes, with a crackling fire, Murder of Roger Ackroyd, endless cups of tea and yoga

So I’m snowed/storm Bertie in at my very rural yoga retreat. The bad weather means the hotel has some leaks. My room had one. So I’ve been moved to a “closed off” to the public section. There’s no one about. This is outside my room. It’s as creepy as fuck! And dolls terrify me
