Making my way from Krakow to Gdańsk today for my first DLM forum meeting. Really enjoying my first time in Poland so far! 🇵🇱 ❤️ I’m even going out on a limb to say so far Krakow has made me some of the best coffees I’ve had in Europe. Is that a controversial take?

I am never embarrassed to talk about how ‘sustainability’ of a company also means sustainable employment for people who work there (meaning a living wage). It may have come out a bit brusquely (“our time isn’t free”) but I hope the perspective behind it is understood.
It was a pleasure to be included as a case study discussing how it is possible to be both a commercial enterprise and work in the open, in alignment with our values. See "Shorthand falls short: Why open infrastructure defies simple labels" in the 2025 IOI report. investinopen.org/state-of-ope...

SCOOP: DOGE notified the Institute of Museum and Library Sciences (IMLS) today that the entire staff is being put on administrative leave effective immediately, I’ve learned from an agency source.

They’ll be cancelling huge swaths of grants/contracts and starting a Reduction in Force (RIF).

Sure, I like that it’s light after work in January but it’s not right. Another vote here for year ‘round standard time in the Yukon.
This morning, my wife's phone sprang forward an hour while mine did not. Just another perk of life on Daylight Nonsense Time here in the Yukon:

I don’t know why it took so long but I finally today, in “celebration” of the US presidential inauguration, deleted my Facebook account. For years I had used it just for chats with a small group of friends but we’ve found another platform. It’s a tiny thing but it makes me feel better, today.
