Yes, my view to this piece about ecological services is “yes but” they have intrinsic value regardless of benefits to humans. It just is also important for humans to understand they are destroying life in a way that will destroy them too.

It also ends the stigma & INSANITY of school lunch debt for kids who struggle to afford school meals… often their only meal of the day.

This is why SNAP is also important - since most on it are children, elderly, disabled, or working parents.

That it’s not a national policy for public school children who are mandated by law to be in school & is denied by Congressional members who themselves enjoy a taxpayer-funded subsidized meal program - is a disgrace. It’s a barrier to improved literacy, childhood hunger & climate-friendly food.
