Award-winning author. Pittsburgh sports fan. Classic film buff. Celebrating God's creation through words and images. Galatians 2:20.
@nicollewallace.bsky.social showed this Homeland Security X post (photo 1) on her show, and it rang a bell for me. Sure enough, it's disturbingly similar to a flier distributed by the KKK (photo 2). A government agency in 2025 is resembling the KKK. Let that sink in.

We praise Thee, O God, for Thy Spirit of Light
who has shown us our Savior and scattered our night.

Revive us again; fill each heart with Thy love.
May each soul be rekindled with fire from above.

Hallelujah! Thine the glory! Revive us again.

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine and ten thousand beside.

All I have needed thy hand hast provided;
Great is thy faithfulness,
Lord unto me.

All things bright and beautiful,
all creatures great and small,
all things wise and wonderful,
the Lord God made them all.

He gave us eyes to see them,
and lips that we might tell
how great is God Almighty,
who has made all things well.

See, the streams of living waters,
springing from eternal love,
well supply thy sons and daughters
and all fear of want remove.
Who can faint while such a river
ever flows their thirst to assuage?
Grace, which like the Lord, the Giver,
never fails from age to age.

All my heart to Him I give,
Ever to Him I'll cling,
In His blessed presence live,
Ever His praises sing.
Love so mighty and so true
Merits my soul's best songs;
Faithful, loving service, too,
To Him belongs.

When nothing else could help,
Love lifted me.

To serve the present age,
my calling to fulfill,
O may it all my pow'rs engage
to do my Master's will!

Help me to watch and pray,
and still on Thee rely,
O let me not my trust betray,
but press to realms on high.

Be still my soul! your God does undertake
To guide the future as he has the past
Your hope, your confidence, let nothing shake
all now mysterious shall be bright at last
Be still my soul! the waves and winds still know
His voice who ruled them while he lived below

Dear Shepherd! I hear, and will follow Thy call;
I know the sweet sound of Thy voice;
restore and defend me, for Thou art my All,
And in Thee I will ever rejoice.

Dear Lord and Father of mankind,
forgive our foolish ways;
re-clothe us in our rightful mind,
in purer lives thy service find,
in deeper reverence praise.

I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses;
And the voice I hear falling on my ear,
The Son of God discloses.
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own,
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.

For the love of God is broader
than the measure of our mind;
and the heart of the Eternal
is most wonderfully kind.

If our love were but more simple,
we would take Him at His word,
and our lives would be illumined
by the presence of our Lord.

Come, thou Fount of every blessing
tune my heart to sing thy grace
streams of mercy, never ceasing
call for songs of loudest praise
Teach me some melodious sonnet
sung by flaming tongues above
praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it
mount of God’s unchanging love

This is patently un-American. And dangerous. Do your homework, folks. Study up on fascist regimes. Because whether you want to face it or not, this administration is doing its level best to be one. We cannot let them. Don't normalize this. Don't ignore it. Stand up. Speak out.

Soft as the voice of an angel,
Breathing a lesson unheard,
Hope with a gentle persuasion,
Whispers her comforting word.
Wait till the darkness is over,
Wait till the tempest is done,
Hope for the sunshine tomorrow,
After the shower is gone.

Just as I am though tossed about
with many a conflict, many a doubt
fightings and fears within, without
O Lamb of God, I come, I come
Just as I am, thou wilt receive
wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve
because thy promise I believe
O Lamb of God, I come, I come

Who do we want to be? Look at this administration and ask yourself-is this who you want to be? Filled with rage, grievance, pettiness, strife, vengeance, arrogance, greed? We need to decide who we want to be, do the work to reach high ideals, and speak out against the ignorance.

This is my Father's world:
The birds their carols raise,
The morning light, the lily white,
Declare their Maker's praise.
This is my Father's world:
He shines in all that's fair;
In the rustling grass I hear Him pass,
He speaks to me everywhere.

Why should I feel discouraged?
Why should the shadows come?
Why should my heart be lonely
And long for heav’n and home,
When Jesus is my portion?
My constant Friend is He:
His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.

May the mind of Christ, my Savior,
live in me from day to day,
by His love and pow'r controlling
all I do and say.

May I run the race before me,
strong and brave to face the foe,
looking only unto Jesus
as I onward go.

Matthew 28:

Up from the grave he arose;
with a mighty triumph o'er his foes;
he arose a victor from the dark domain,
and he lives forever, with his saints to reign.
He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!

-Robert Lowry

Tell of the cross where they nailed him,
writhing in anguish and pain;
tell of the grave where they laid him;
tell how he liveth again.
Love in that story so tender,
clearer than ever I see:
stay, let me weep while you whisper,
Love paid the ransom for me.

-Fanny Crosby

Lord, Jesus, we remember
The travail of Thy soul,
When in Thy love’s deep pity
The waves did o’er Thee roll.
Baptised in death’s cold waters,
For us Thy blood was shed,
For us Thou, Lord of Glory,
Wast numbered with the dead.
