This is why relying on charity to fund essential services is a truly wild policy choice.

If you've depended on vaccination, don't panic. Wearing a N95 or KN95 mask (you CAN reuse them, btw) in public spaces reliably can help reduce your chances of getting ill regardless of vaccination status. Same with cleaning the air.
Please look up the influenza epidemic of 1918-19 to understand that the CDC not selecting strains for next year’s vaccines sets the stage for a public health calamity that will, without doubt and at bare minimum, catastrophically and directly impact people you know. This is a five alarm fire.

I love seeing Zach LaVine in a Kings jersey especially after a performance like tonight for him

I don't know what it means when you break a glass right after midnight as it turns into Chinese New Year but if bad things keep happening I guess I'm going to keep this updated.

Finished watching Phantom Thread for the first time at exactly midnight to finish up this year of more (but not entirely) intentional consumption of film.

Over 200 entries in 2024, just over 450 hours watched, lots of short films, and a concerted effort to watch more things that are new to me.

Somehow on a streak of watching new movies instead of watching something I’ve seen before! 9 features, 10 if you count a short film.

I managed to watch maybe 200 feature films this year. My total (273 according to Letterboxd) is overinflated due to all the short films I saw, but I’m happy with it.

I've been saying this for years about cars specifically. I shouldn't have to take my eyes off the road and shift my attention to a screen in order to change my AC settings! This is a safety issue!

Now that it's been a week since Memorial Day Weekend and summer is off to a start, I just wanted to caution folks about covid once again. Friends near and far are testing positive. If you're going to summer conferences or large gatherings, please take precautions. Let's keep each other safe!

Two days ago I pulled out my ukulele and started playing again. Tonight I remembered a Danielle Ate the Sandwich song from a long time ago, and I don't think I've ever taken a look at the lyrics even though I sing along. It hits different now, I'm crying. www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DC1...
