I am an Associate Professor in Risk and Decision Science, working across the areas of forensic psychology and applied health research.
It's been a long time since I logged on here. It might be nice to reconnect with a wider academic community, so, hello again!

Not much I want to say about academic life at the moment, but I've been keeping myself well through writing children's story books and creating colouring and puzzle books ❤️

Krykant, who battled addiction issues, was found dead at home in Falkirk. He inspired many to regard addiction as a health issue and paved the way for state-backed safe drug consumption areas

Today I asked AI to summarise an academic paper. The actual results were the opposite to what was hypothesised (and to what others had shown). The AI summary assumed the study had found what everyone else had found. Hot tip: don’t use a stochastic parrot to summarise an outlier paper. #academicsky 🧪

Reducing entitlements to disability or incapacity benefits will do nothing to raise living standards or help more people into employment.

Access to both of these benefits is essential for people’s mental health - restricting them will undermine their very purpose.
