It’s the salsa-making time of year again. Don’t ever make homemade salsa unless you plan to make it for the rest of eternity. Because there is no going back once you’ve tasted homemade. (It’s totally worth it. You should definitely make your own.)

My 23yo is in Panama this week with his ecology class and I have complaints.

I made an olla today because I’m upping my vegetable gardening game big time this year and am intrigued by this ancient irrigation technique. You bury the pot to the top, fill with water, then the water seeps out as needed. Saves water and better for plants. #pottery #gardening

Working on a new batch of these beauties for Wide Awake Bakery, a local small business that I feel truly honored to collaborate with. They do business right.

Apple Maps no longer has the Gulf of Mexico as a search term—it changes the name. But if you click Report a Problem, you can send them a message to correct the name. (Though it is still labeled the Gulf of Mexico when you look at it on the map without searching. Hoping that remains.)

So looking forward to getting back into the studio this week.

Got an email from JD Vance last night begging for donations to the Trump National Committee JFC, Inc to “support our new administration.” That’s…interesting. Where is this money going? And they’re going to continue to fleece their followers as they fleece and destroy the government?

Pics attached.

My friend Kris wrote an amazing piece about hope and her love of the Dickinson poem “Hope is a thing with feathers…” and shared it on her social media. It was so beautiful, I carved her words “Hope is a fucking phoenix” into a travel mug (with permission, of course).

I’m carving my feminist rage into mugs this week—phrases like “Fuck the patriarchy,” “Hope is a fucking phoenix,” and “They didn’t burn witches. They burned women.” What else should I include? #pottery #fuckthepatriarchy #feminism

Spent my weekend attaching handles to mugs. It takes me 20-30 minutes to attach one—getting the placement & shape right, adjusting the angle & distance from the mug body, and then refining & smoothing the attachments. To me, design, comfort, and beauty is much more important than speed. #pottery

Am supposed to be working—attaching handles to mugs—but got delayed/distracted by a trip to the library. (And how did I not know that Stacey Abrams has written novels? SO excited to dive in.)(But first…handles.)

Took a walk around the property today—our own personal First Day hike—and this sweet garden shed never fails to bring me joy. One of my favorite parts of this place.
