You mean to say that when Other People email their elected representatives it doesn’t feed directly into a 🕳️ ?!
I am shocked and envious.

My own prom was student planned, off-site, and the only thing the school provided was a table in the cafeteria for ticket sales (which funded the event). I genuinely believed this was the standard practice provincially.
And I think it should be.

To be clear, my definitions are:
Graduation=school celebration of achievement, awards & diploma distribution with (perhaps) a tea/coffee social afterwards on site with staff, parent/families
Prom= fancy dress, dinner/dance which may also include an after party (students only)

If the Minister is going to insist that Durham region reinstate school-led prom, then do all school boards provincially need to provide this?
Is this going to be a funded expectation of the Ministry?

I had this impression because waaaaay back in the 1990s there were many Boards where this was the case. Boards in Ontario have been divested themselves of the liability and cost of “prom” for at least 3 decades.

I am coming back to this topic today because I keep seeing articles like this www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Until this topic popped up, I was under the impression that graduations were school based and funded, but proms were _student_ led, funded, and managed.
Ontario education minister urges schools to restore cancelled proms | CBC News
Education Minister Paul Calandra says if an Ontario school board doesn't restore prom plans for three of its high schools that cancelled them, he will step in and do it.

Montreal is, in fact, really excellent at bathrooms. They have an “everyone”at the science centre where the artwork was done by children’s illustrator Elise Gravel

We have a 6/7 split class in the school where I work.
Some teachers learned about this trend the hard way last week during 1st week back.
We now refer to them only as:
“Class”
“Y’all”
“Mrs. [Name’s]”
“Friends, Romans, Countryfolks”
