Every year on Memorial Day, I share this video of French caretakers who take sand from Omaha Beach in Normandy, and scrub them into the letters to give them the gold coloring.

They do this for all 9,386 US soldiers who died.

France also gave us this land as American soil.

I cried, so now y’all can too. Mr. Riddick graduated at 80 years old! It’s never too late, and this is important as I constantly doubt myself. 💙💙💙 congratulations to you sir!!!

Socialism is what they called public power.

Socialism is what they called social security.

Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations.

Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people.

A new report found that Elon Musk faced at least $2.37 billion in potential legal liability from 11 federal agencies on inauguration day.

Many are now on DOGE's chopping block or have dropped their investigations into Musk's corporations.

"Conflict of interest" is an understatement.

They used to do this covertly, but now that they're trying to make free speech illegal, they have to make it clear.

Actual antisemitism won't be policed. Criticism of Israel will be.

And considering the age we're in, it's not just that. *All* dissent will be policed. That's what this really is.
SCOOP: The Antisemitism Awareness Act — up for vote in Senate committee tomorrow — now has a religious liberty clause to protect ‘Jews killed Jesus’ statements by Christian conservatives.

New added language in the bill clarifies First Amendment protections.

Why the Antisemitism Awareness Act now has a religious liberty clause to protect ‘Jews killed Jesus’ statements
The Antisemitism Awareness Act's added language says it would not infringe on religious liberty to protect the claim that Jews killed Jesus.

Everybody needs to see this. This is a cry for help.
It really takes a lot for me to say this, but the Graham tweet is genuinely a pretty offensive thing to say.
Despite seeing several people I totally trust say this was real I still felt I had to verify it with my own eyes. And having done so I still can't believe it's real.

Clay Jackson's story is picking up momentum. Jackson is the Texas attorney who was visited by two law enforcement officers at his home after giving some legal advices to an undocumented family. He was fired from his job with FNF after talking to me about the incident.

Here's Judd Legum:

I can't even remember the last time I was excited and enthusiastic for something some techbro insisted was The Next Big Thing.

They are FULLY out of ideas. It's just scam after scam, now.
"Your health records will be on the block chain."
"Everyone will live in the Metaverse."
"All art will be NFTs."
"Generative AI will replace the need for humans."

We need to reckon with the reality that the tech industry no longer creates things that anyone wants.
The next time someone tells you some dumb-ass tech thing is "inevitable" even if a company has spent tens of billions of dollars on it

Now this is a man.
“And then I grew up … and I read books.”

As someone else who’s proud of his NC ties, I respect the hell out of @davidjoy.bsky.social for speaking out like this.
WATCH: “You’re saying you revere a time when their ancestors were in bondage.”

In NC, @davidjoy.bsky.social powerfully explains why it’s wrong to remove a “compromise plaque” without public input, and why revering the confederacy is offensive.

Repeal and X
Wide Open X

Drain the X
Law and X
X the Wall

Notice something? All are simple & easy to remember. The GOP have mastered this & we need sticky phrases like that that permeate into the public sphere. #Voices4Victory #DemVoice1 #USDemocracy #ProudBlue

It will be down to 25% in a couple months when the reality of the empty ports fully hits and jobs start disappearing along with more people.
Trump's approval rating hits a low of 39% in a new poll. That's down 6 points from a similar survey released mid-February.

The lowest approval rating for any president at their 100-day mark going back to F.D. Roosevelt's 3rd. term.

ICE threatening charges against people for asking supposed officers to show their badges is weakness. Not succeeding where they hoped to, left relying on threats that likely won’t go anywhere in court (harassment isn’t nothing, but it’s limited).

It’s a sign to resist their abuses more, not less.
