Ok, who are all you people and why are you suddenly following me?? (not that I mind - just curious)

The police released a detailed description of the video, and Ford was relieved of his mayoral powers. In April 2014 another crack video was released and Ford was forced to go to rehab - but stayed on Council and was running again when he died of cancer. The original video wasn't released until 2016.

Then as now, it was a solid wall of increasingly desperate denials, from the day in May 2013 when the crack video story first broke and the photo appeared on the front page of the Toronto Star of him standing and smiling with known drug dealers... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timelin...

Looks like the building at the bottom is supposed to be the Pitman's Parliament, which, aside from being symmetrical, looks nothing like it.

My Dad passed away a few weeks ago. Here he is at the cottage in his Jays hat, circa 1980-something. He and especially my Mom were huge Jays fans. Hope they're somewhere watching and cheering this week. #gojaysgo

Ernie Clement looks like a movie star playing a baseball player. Thankfully, he can also hit.

I also love the image on the back, which looks for all the world like the 'Garden Car' in Toronto's Kensington Market.

Fun fact: Our community mailbox is directly across a very busy street from our house in Milton - and yet, it is impossible to access without 'jaywalking' as it is in the middle of a very long block and there is no sidewalk on that side of the street.

Ok, it's clearly been a while since I've read it - it was only a couple of paragraphs. Guess it loomed larger in my mind. Still, very evocative.

Even more fun - I got 'sea-lioned' (ref. below) by some woman who kept pestering me to explain exactly why we objected to what Canada Proud was talking about and what our exact position was on immigration and kept saying "But I don't understand and why are you getting annoyed?" Classic sea lion.

Well! THAT was fun! Met up with some friends, did some chanting, nearly got knocked down by someone getting knocked down by some Canada Proud prick, and helped chase the fascist scum out of Christie Pits. My sign read "1933 CALLED - THEY WANT THEIR NAZIS BACK!"

One of my favourite Graham Greene films is Clearcut, in which he plays a First Nations activist (who might also be a mystical being) who kidnaps the corporate head of a logging company and proceeds to do to his body what the loggers are doing to the land. I think about that a lot...

Vacationing in London this week, and on our first day walkabout of the neighbourhood around our hotel (Limehouse), ran into folks from SusTrans promoting the National Cycling Network. Had a lovely conversation! They seemed surprised that a tourist was so interested ;) www.sustrans.org.uk

No cheating. Your last celebrity photo is your therapist. Who is it?

Today's insight: Temu is the current equivalent of those cheezy ads in the backs of comic books for Sea Monkeys and X-ray glasses.

Plus an honorable mention to Skinwalkers (2007) which, while an indisputably terrible movie, still has a clever premise plus some AWESOME werewolf lockdown rigs built by my talented husband Adam Smith :) www.imdb.com/title/tt0461...
