Hottie of Hydrogen - Founder & CEO - Rux Energy - efficient inherently safe low cost hydrogen storage and transport using advanced nanoporous materials and systems; decarbing hard to abate sectors like ships trucks, trains and planes. (they / them)
In some absurdly good news which I cannot even fathom, we at Rux Energy have won the CMA CGM Startup Award 2025 for Safe Transportation of Dangerous Goods for our hydrogen storage solution. I am fortunate to have such a strong team, with my UK director Charles delivering the final round pitch.

I think it's a very accurate report. Not all the $530B required for decarbonisation will deliver profits. The point of the report is that we need to change policy levers such that as much as possible of that $530B required can be direct to profit making activities to self propel industry forward.

Imagine putting an investor case for this plan together...

Also does this mean Americans can start enriching their own heavy elements in their back yard? New levels of freedom unlocked!

I'll add that doing the easy to abate (grid, electric cars) makes up less than 40% of total emissions.

Below shows the roadmap IEA has set out with a strategy for every sector, with milestones to ensure we reach net zero by 2050.

Maritime for example is not on track and requires increased focus.

I'm on the ground in London about to head to the airport and the whole airport is shut down. There are 120 flights in the air right now on their way in!!! Absolutely nuts.

I suppose he thinks we should also give up our Faberge egg addictions too!

Another good example is battery storage. While US manufacturered batteries are still twice as expensive as Chinese made batteries, they coming down in cost very fast, because we now know why, and solve for it.

Old world of Carbon Tax + Spend: Has been absolutely catastrophic for several democratic governments, Canada, Australia. Why? Because prices rise.

Bidenomics: Intention is prices stay neutral or potentially even fall. Focus is on achieving lower and lower LCoE for every tech.

Recently had my cousin over here for Christmas and I was reminded of two things:
1. Sydney is bloody gorgeous, even when she's overcast, just paradise.
2. We eat a lot of bacon. My cuz thought it was so funny that we add it to everything. She (being Goan) thought it was marvelous 😋😋😋🥓🥓🥓

Thank heavens for the heavy rain breaking today's 35°C scorcher. Brain was starting to properly melt. Sydney southerly coming the save the day.

Stunning day today in Sydney. Feeling exceptionally grateful for what we have, to live in this glorious city, to have this time with fam. This view from the rocks at Clovelly towards the tall yachts doing the Sydney to Hobart run.

I love that the new Keira Knightley / Ben Wishaw thriller Black Doves is effectively a delightfully dark Christmas special. I hope this becomes a regular Christmas thing!

2 of 2 - Aus article on Flotation Energy (TEPCO) winning a ruing against Cth DCCEEW.

Sure to make the relationship with Minister Bowen very tense, but the thing is we need Japanese investment into Australian solar wind and hydrogen production. We're so behind.
