Yeah, it's frustrating that people seem to think it's a safe bet that anybody who values Jewish culture and history is an Israeli. Diaspora Jews are neither guilty of Israel's crimes, nor do we derive our legitimacy as Jews from the modern political regime. Thanks for deleting :)

I know nothing about his political beliefs, but he appears to be an American Jew, not an Israeli, and is talking about a piece of text from centuries before the establishment of the modern state of Israel.

Just fyi, Reuven Goldstein appears to be a Rabbi in San Jose, California, who was ordained by a yeshiva in Brooklyn.

And unfortunately I live right in the rotting heart of this whole thing.
