For successful requests, how specific do they need to be with regard to time frame and/or content? Or are you having success with very broad requests?

Those roles can be lucrative, but the bigger takeaway is how they create a smokescreen for cops/the city to signal they are reforming & taking a problem seriously. Yes, these instances absolutely lead to real (often harmful) change, but in many cases cop consultants are just an expensive PR scheme.

It's a pretty important piece in the history of policing...cops spent decades constructing an elite "expert class" of officers who tour the country and globe as consultants/advisors. This goes back to August Vollmer, O.W. Wilson, Michigan State University, the Office of Public Safety, etc...

But that is illogical, high speed chases happen because police engage in them, and the notion that they do anything other than put all citizens at risk is a bullshit cover for their need to safeguard and assert authority by any means necessary

The local DA statement regarding the guy they were chasing, who stole a car: “He put the chain of events into play. He's responsible for all the reactions to his actions. He's facing two counts, and if that poor kid doesn't survive, he'll face another."

The two girls who the police killed - after going almost 90 through a red light - were driving a car, so they should’ve had their phone open to the “Pursuit Alert” app while driving?
