The reality Putin wants us to ignore is this: Neither Russia nor the US can set the terms on which European troops enter Ukraine, or even whether they enter Ukraine. That is a sovereign decision by the Ukrainians and the Europeans.

I hope everyone had lovely Christmases. Ours was bittersweet, as this morning we said farewell to our beloved dog, Polly, one of four street dogs we rescued in Tbilisi. She had a wonderful life, and hopefully joins many friends in fields full of rabbits on the other side of the rainbow bridge. 🐾🐾❤️❤️
