Saipem and Subsea7 have withdrawn their merger request with the Norwegian competition authority, only 2 days before it was supposed to announce whether the deal was approved. The news come only few days after the companies made a similar move in Germany

Mediobanca withdrew its lawsuit against the ECB's decision which has made possible its hostile takeover by Monte dei Paschi di Siena, or MPS. The move was completely expected, since MPS had achieved control of Mediobanca just one week after the lawsuit was filed
