Civil marriage has nothing to do with divine grace and everything to do with property rights and protecting children and inheritance rights. You can get married in a church and not get a civil license if you want but you don't get protections by the legal system.

Remember she had other people in her office who were willing to do the work to issue marriage licenses but she forbade them. She didn't have to do it herself but she wanted the publicity and right-wing religious nuts supported her against regular people just requesting a government service.

He said if you didn't vote for him or didn't vote he wants to work for you. Compare that to Trump no disaster aid, no infrastructure funds, no grants for states that didn't vote for him.

Of course I do think there is no moral or ethical basis for denying care to the poor. But John Ratcliffe, CIA Director, said as my US Rep, it's like retail: if you can't pay you can't have it. And another US Rep said if you take care of yourself you won't have medical problems

In my rural area, every bomb threat the police have been able to identify the caller who made the threat and arrest them. Surely the urban police, state police and federal agents can arrest these terrorists.
