He is explaining why he chose write Yoda that way.
BUT ...
The character Yoda speaks backwards at first to seem feeble and test Luke’s character. It may also grab the audience's attention too.
Once he reveals he's a Jedi Master, he speaks much clearer Still Yoda-ish, but wise and deliberate.
