Yeah…except the problem actually is guns. So, here’s the thing, multiple research findings have shown that access to guns is the #1 risk factor for suicide and homicide. It’s why we ask every potentially suicidal and homicidal patient if they have access to guns.

You’re right, there are more than 2x that number of people here…here being Johnson County. Also, Johnson County voted 68.4% in favor of Harris. Iowa City, itself, is regarded as one of the most liberal cities in the entire country.

The detrimental effects will be felt far and wide, regardless of political sympathies. The damage is to an extent from which we will not recover in our lifetimes. The goal right now is to focus on future generations and how we can act now to benefit them.

Also, what we are fighting against requires a unified front in multiple cites & states. We can’t afford to write each other off based on suppositions & prejudices; division is what MAGA wants. Recognize there are pockets of descent in every state. We must rely on each other for strength.

Iowa City is a very liberal community. Iowa City voters overwhelmingly vote Democrat. They have been pulled into this mess just like everyone else.
