Touching to have Spotify celebrate the 1-year anniversary of my layoff by demonstrating that they could not, in fact, still do Wrapped just as well without me.

Easter eggs in alt text that aren't in the image will probably never not piss me off.

It's just not an appropriate use of the tool. It's like putting a joke in closed captions that isn't there in the audio.

I think it's because I come in with a clear sense of what accessibility should be about.

Alt text is not for "adding subtext". It's just not. Folks believe otherwise for a variety of reasons but thirty years of best practice make it clear that's not the point of it.
BTW new folk an important aspect of bluesky culture is that we use all text. We use it not only to be inclusive of our community members and followers who might need it. But also to add subtext to skeets. reading alt text is often a useful and fun experience beyond whatever a skeet w/ an image says

Pro tip.

If you ask a person if they can eat something and they reply with "is it poisonous?!" and you get upset, that is a clue that your question was inappropriate and you should stfu.

That's a free gift. Happy holidays.

In America you can have whatever you want as long as what you want is to have your tax money go to pay for genocide in foreign countries while you can’t afford healthcare or to send your children to college.

Rahimi’s counsel says: there aren’t historical analogues for prohibiting possession of a firearm within the home. There’s a much more robust tradition of regulating the public carry of firearms, which makes sense, because “that’s where you encounter other people.”

This is a DOMESTIC violence case.

This medical intake form has spots for 3 medications (including OTC meds) and one line for allergies.

Do people actually live like this? You lucky bastards.

Use it to misdirect sailing ships into the rocks and devour the sailors at your leisure in the depths of the inky black sea.

where can i donate to the orcas
The orcas have done it again.

On Oct. 31, a pod of killer whales swarmed a yacht sailing in the Strait of Gibraltar. For 45 minutes, the orcas hit the vessel’s rudder and damaged the boat, according to the company that operated it.

Despite rescue efforts, the yacht never made it back to shore.

Americans objectively have a terrible track record for responding to genocide but I feel like if you ask the average American if they could tell if a genocide was happening they would say yes with their whole chest and no hesitation
