Astro-nerd, compulsive punster, skeptic (but not a cynic)
I did not see the OP’s first post.

No, my solution doesn’t address the issue of the excessive number of satellites that streak across our night skies. It simply addresses how we minimize the impact on our astrophotography.

I know better than to say that it can't get worse because worse is always waiting in the wings for its cue.

If one takes multiple exposures, most astronomy processing software like PixInsight will remove the satellite trails.

I was imaging M51, the Whirlpool Galaxy, when a jet approaching the airport 15 miles east of me went through.

There was no trace of it in the final image.

At this point, there should be no problem with your having a healthy, beautiful baby! Wishing all the best to you and your little star voyager.

The auroras last night were nothing compared to the night before. We got a slight tinge of pink along the northern horizon. About 10 degrees further north, there was a somewhat different story (taken by a friend who lives in Idaho).

What are you doing in Charlotte? If I'd known, I'd have offered to take you to lunch.

They can’t do math, either. If the estimated 8.2 million protesters got $200 each, that’s over $2.6 billion.

I captured C/2025 R2 a few nights ago but forgot to use dithering with my tracking so it’s got a bit of walking noise.

Prematurely or was Trump trying to make way to appoint Junior VP? 😁

I am a retired planetarium director who has been doing astrophotography for the last 13 years or so. I have a home observatory (named for my late cat Apollo) and I’m very active in my local astronomy club.
