Guerilla minelayer Agama is hot off the presses for the Hearth-7 homebrew project! Enjoyed doing all the little details for this one.

A bipedal digitigrade mecha, with a solid triangular torso and spindly 3-jointed arms. One arm holds a wood-finish bolt-action pistol over its head, and the other has a long curved metal board strapped to it, containing a variety of mines ready to deploy. The mines have messages scratched into them: "From: HRF (heart)", SURPRISE!, and an owo face. It has a large roll cage over its torso-mounted cockpit with rounded windshield. Graffiti on it reads "If you can read this, say your prayers!!" Rope is slung over its shoulder, tied to a variety of explosive devices. Its top edge is covered in vibrant plants, possibly as camouflage. On one shoulder, a mine with robotic legs and antennae perches. Its right side is roughly painted red, and on the right shoulder is scrawled "Union Strong", and Moria in hand graffiti style. Embedded in the left side of the torso is a deep chute with studded cylindrical mulchers at the bottom, leading to complex machinery with a delivery chute at the bottom, like a vending machine. Inside the chute is an arrow pointing down accompanied by the text "TSC + Fasc" and on the outside is scratched "Feed Me". Below this on the lower left thigh is scratched "ACAB - All Corps Are Bastards". The latest Hearth-7 #LancerRPG #mech off the rank, the Hellbender! Put together from scrap and hooked up to too many reactors, the Hellbender loads itself with heat to defend itself and its allies.
A large, squat, hunchback mech in an upright quad-leg configuration, clearly made from mismatched, damaged parts and patched-on armour plates, and covered in dirt, rust and grime. It has one large arm on one side ending in an armoured fist with two small flames atop it, and on the other it has 2 mismatched arms, one holding a sledgehammer with ends glowing with heat, and the other attached to a large shield resembling a bent car radiator. Its top and chest armour is made of a huge bucket scoop from a digger, cut diagonally to reveal its horned head and a series of glowing pipes and exposed reactors. Around its waist are a series of mismatched vents radiating steam. Its four thick legs are also mismatched, with the two most visible in front ending in a shoe-like foot and a flat, circular piston-suspended platform with 4 toes arranged evenly around it. Both are covered in patched bare metal armour plates. It also is decorated with graffiti, consisting of the symbol of the Hearth Revolutionary Forces (a large red bird) on the chest armour, and the above the head the slogan "Burn bright the fires of liberty". There is a large red Anarchy symbol on one thigh. Text at the bottom of the image reads: HRF Hellbender, Heat Based Tanking. Ash Overflow Vents, Intervention Tempering, Superheated Sledgehammer. Another Hearth-7 mech down - this time the Jiraiya, a Size 1/2 evasive menace with tools to take down and even climb larger targets. The camo cloak was a challenge but came out real nice in the end I think!
A scratched and patched up ninja-looking mech. Parts are mismatched colours as though replaced with different coloured sources, like a cheap panel beating job. There is duct tape wrapped around its left thigh and calf. Its right arm contains a thin spiked pile driver and ends in a clawed hand, and its left holds a long, slightly curved sword behind its back with black blink energy bubbling off it. It's wearing a hooded cloak which makes its body invisible, with a rainbow iridescent sheen. The sword is distorted and visible through it. It has graffiti in places - HRF sprayed on the right thigh, HARP with 3 harps crossed out in red on the shoulder, BANGARANG scratched into the left upper arm, and "AGI ❤" marked on the lower right arm. Text below the mech reads: HRF "Jiraiya", Wraith in Shadow. Stilletto, Shadow Clone, Blink Sword, Flash Step. Art: Jonathan Caridia Same as other image but against a dark background instead of white, to show off the camo cloak's adaption to the background, and with no text.

Another of the Hearth-7 mechs, this time the Olm - a defender frame built around overactive nanite nexuses (nexi?), using them and various drones to protect allies.

These keep getting better and better IMO! So much detail I used all the 2000 alt text characters...

A lizard-like quadrupedal mech with light smokey limbs and tail made of nanites, covered with protective cages and posed aggressively looking at the viewer. It has 2 large, angled smokestack-like cylinders protruding above either shoulder, covered in small holes and leaking the same smoke that make up the limbs in loops and whirls. Another at the back has the thick smoke tail snaking out of its end. There are protective curved metal plates to about halfway on all of them, covered in a variety of graffiti and tags, including the name Jeff, a kickflipping long lizard (the titular Olm), a flaming skull and a small sheep. The head is flat and angular with protruding, long slit eye lenses, and a hatch in the middle of the forehead. A gridded bull bar wraps all the way around the head. There is a bright orange antenna extending back from the left side of the head, with many spikes along it, like a sparse feather or fern. The body is contained within a roll cage like a stock car, tapering at either end, and with X-shaped supports. Along the top pipe is written "No Cages On H7", referencing the homebrew's planet Hearth-7. Smoke strands from the front and rear legs weave through the side bars. The body consists mainly of series of cylindrical drone bays arranged like a 6-pack of cans, with lens doors in the top. One is open. Haphazard armour plates are on the sides under the cage. Flying above the mech is a quad-copter drone carrying a stack of thick pancake-shaped mines. An opening in the front with two guide prongs can shoot them out. Drive fans are disturbing the smoke from the top of the nexuses. Floating to the left of the mech, there's also a small dense ball of darker nanites formed into floating shields, linked by a thin strand to the front left shoulder nexus. At the bottom is text reading: HRF "Olm" Nexus of Defence Nanodrone, Symbiotic Interdiction, Mineprinter drone, Chaff Charge Nexus And the author and game name to the right. Same as the previous but with a clear background and the artist's logo and name, Jonathan Caridia, as a watermark.

I got commissioned to do the rest of the #Lancer Hearth-7 Homebrew mechs, so expect more of these over the coming weeks. Fun project!

Here's the Krait, a Size 1/2 teleporting crit-fiend with lock-on tools and some cool Nexus weapons, including one with an embedded AI.

A skinny mech in a half-crouched stance with a lowered long gun in its hands, couched in its shoulder. The other shoulder's armour has a big X of tape over it. It has scratched and faded paintwork, a red layer over blue (lore being it's stolen tech from the Hearth Revolutionary Forces' opponents, the TSC, painted over TSC blue with HRF red.) It has mismatched legs, one a replacement stapled on mid-thigh which is no more than a knee joint and thin piston lower leg with a paddle foot. It is wearing a visor down with three glowing lenses in a triangle pattern, with one on our left being twice as big as the right two. two fins jut off the side of the visor like ears. Out the back of the head leads a thick bundle of thumb-thick cables kept together with cable ties, that lead down into the side of its gun-shaped weapon above the grip. The gun is rifle-sized and had tape on the stock, symmetrical spikes along the barrel like a puffer fish. A jellyfish is scratched on the side. (This is a reference to its original name, Irukanji.) 6 small barrels peek out a smooth cowl, arranged in a 3x2 pattern. It's darkened towards the end. On its back is a conical generator with glowing loops of string-like wisps coming off its bright back end. Similar wisps are scattered over the Krait's entire right side. The generator has a missing side panel with visible glowing components and cables inside. It has a wide, stubby armored tail. There are glowing copies of itself just behind the main image which match the generator glows, intended as a teleportation effect. A chunky pot-bellied mecha with a large hammer held over one shoulder. Spiked, raw metal armour on one arm, flat head with glowing eyes, tree-trunk legs with two-toed feet, and a jury-rigged reactor in the right side of its chest, cables leading from it to under the shoulder and fiery light spilling from a diagonal slit. Mismatched body plate colours with scratches and weathering, and graffiti messages: across the right of the belly, "Free Hearth Now" scrawled in all caps, and "Irori" in bubble text. On the left shoulder, the initials TSC with 18 checkmarks below it. "Justice" is underlined handstyle on the left unarmored forearm, the Anarchist A in a circle on the lower left leg, and a roughly sprayed spread-eagle bird on the lower right arm plate. The hammer has a thick iron shaft, with cloth pennants and two small gold rings tied to the end. The body has a smoking vent in the side and a few thick cables running to it from a smaller secondary box where it connects to the shaft. The head is a geometric square shape, ridged with large shallow pyramid shapes like a tenderising mallet. on the opposite end is a cylindrical shape that looks a bit like a piston head. In the lower part of the frame is some text in a bold sans serif geometric font that reads: HRF "Bullfrog", Momentum-Gathering Wrecking Ball. Power Hammer, Graveltrap. Molyneux "Molly" Plasma Charges. Jonathan Caridia. Lancer, the Mech RPG. Behind it all is large outlined graffiti text that says "Bullfrog" again as a decorative element. Book spread in the style of a medival illuminated manuscript, with large ornate drop capitals and watercolour decorative banners and florals. First page reads: Premise Spengland. A land filled with beauty and mystery, from its shining lakes to verdant forests and cerulean snow-capped peaks. A land of humanity, who struggle, who laugh and make war and drink and sing. A land of monsters and spirits. A land of legend. Tales tell of the ancient Sky-Kings who came with gifts most wondrous and terrible, among them the machine-armors piloted by our gallant knights. While their workings are mostly lost to time, among many other wonders they struggle on, kept by the faith of those remnants with the scraps of knowledge to keep the kingdom’s sole miracle printer churning out - GET ON WITH IT! Oh fine, how’s this? It’s a medieval feudal society where Union contact was made and then lost, leaving remnants of tech to make things interesting. Spengland, or Space England, is ruled by King Arthur the Fifth, and mech pilots serve as his knights. Arthur recently had a dream in which Christian God told him to find a lost ancient relic to bring glory to his kingdom - the Holy Leviathan Assault Cannon, known for its golden sheen, Radiant damage and most virtuous +1 to hit. However, he is much too busy to get it himself, so he posts a Quest on the Royal Craigslist for knights brave and cunning enough for the job. Running this adventure This adventure is intended to run in one session (not including character creation), consisting of an estimated 4-6 hours depending on experience, number of players, combat reinforcements used and how into the roleplay and japery everyone gets. It is silly and about 73% Monty Python by weight, so you have been warned. It contains a series of narrative challenges resolved with skill checks, followed by a single combat. The challenges drain the players’ resources whether they succeed or fail, to simulate a more traditional mission. ...oops out of charactr A black book page spread with ornate text and background illustrations. Reads: The Players The players are Knights who answered the call to aid King Arthur in his God-Given Quest for the Holy Leviathan Assault Cannon. Knights are the elites of the Kingdom, hailing from a wide array of bacKgrounds and sKll sets due to the variety of machines needing pilots. They are also heavily supported with remaining tech artifacts, giving them full access to standard pilot gear, though hardsuits have been patched with steel plate to fulfill the aesthetic. Knights can be of any gender because there’s nothing better than women in armor, and everyone else can get it too, why not. Players make their own LL5 characters before the session. Along with the standard requirements of character creation, liKe name, bacKground, triggers, pilot gear etc, players should have answers to the following questions: (Then in a box styled like old parchment:) You are committed to completing King Arthur’s quest for him. Why? Duty, greed, love, adventure, fame, or something else? What do you contribute to the Questors? Valor, insight, tenacity, hope, warm meals? The second page reads: Character Archetypes If needing a bit of a creative Kickstart, here are some character archetypes to use as a base. Names can be used as callsigns, first names, or concepts. Characters taking on these archetypes could be of any gender or background, so long as they are Knights of Spengland! Lancelot [image of a red lion] Bold, brave, hot-headed, acts without thinking. Recommended: Blackbeard, Tokugawa, Nelson Morgan [purple raven] Brooding, enigmatic, teasing. Black Witch, Minotaur, Chomolungma Guinevere [yellow unicorn] Socially outgoing, insightful, conniving. Dusk Wing, Vlad, Hydra Galahad [green bear] Pure, straightforward, gallant. Saladin, Drake, Gorgon Patsy (brown cow) Silent, passive, pious, diligent. The Black Knight The players come across an ancient black RPV guarding the path through a gully. It demands battle. Players make 4 Hull checks to blow each of its limbs off. It will not give up at any point despite the extent and severity of the damage, goading the PCs into further combat until completely disabled. They succeed if at least 2 limbs are blown off. Success: The Knight is left useless on the side of the road, though it continues to goad the PCs with fighting words. The players pass safely, though not without some battle damage. - Half HP each Failure: The PCs take significant damage as the Black RPV gets the best of them, but manage to manoeuvre around the Knight and retreat through the gully. - One Structure each p.7 A spread of two book pages, one dark and dreary, the other celebratory. (Spoilers for the book ending follow) The first pictures a dark cloudy sky and rolling green hills. a bucket helmeted knight is in the foreground kneeling with their sword, and an anachronistic police car is behind them, lights flashing. In the sky are words in blackletter font: Defeat… The remaining opponents retreat back into their cliff hole at the sound of approaching sirens. With lights flashing, over the hill barrel vehicles of the Valley of Never-Ending Torment Area Metropolitan Police! Any PCs left alive are arrested for the suspected murder of a milky-eyed old homeless man. The cameraman is also arrested, and so we see no more. p.15 The second page features a warm yellow background and a golden image on the left side: arms holding glasses raised in celebration. Reads: Victory! The Questors chisel out the Holy Leviathan Assault Cannon from inside the statue. It is as shiny gold as the legends told, and twice as heavy. (image: gold minigun) Gain Exotic Gear: Holy Leviathan Assault Cannon Stats: [A normal Leviathan Heavy Assault Cannon from Drake 3, but with a flat +1 to hit. Wow!] …Until you have to hand it in, that is. If we skip the boring bit of travelling back the way they came, the Questors return to a heroes’ welcome. Spamelot breaks into a huge festival with garlands and parades through the streets, and vendors selling snacks of dubious quality. At the palace, each of the players are given a medal and congratulations fit to their character’s actions and disposition by King Arthur himself, now owner of a fancy new Assault Cannon. If they suffered any losses in person or material, they are somberly honored in the ceremony also. The Cannon graces the arm of the Royal Drake most shinily, and the PCs are gifted the far duller and more matte replacement as thanks (Also Exotic Gear). Then the dwarves come out to dance and everyone is merry. Except the French, who weren’t invited.

A tumblr post by user portentsofwoe.
