I think Trudeau is playing this well but it’s important to remember that you can’t mollify a malignant narcissist. Whatever you give him, he will ultimately ask for more. If you need to buy time with one, that’s one thing. But don’t think you can shut him down by being conciliatory to him.

Re-reading parts of Howard Thurman’s “Jesus and the Disinherited” and came upon this sentence: "A man who lies habitually becomes a lie, and it is increasingly impossible for him to know when he is lying and when he is not.”
