2) Sometimes you need a handyman to assist your project, whether it's doing research when you lack the time/live too far from the materials you need, or require a fact-checking historian to ensure accuracy in a time of disinformation.

This is when my "historical handyman" service can help you!

1) WARNING: Professional ad alert!

Sometimes you need a handyman to fix your home's needs, whether it's as simple as installing a shelf or as complex as assembling the world's largest piece of IKEA furniture (which comes with hundreds of diagrams and pegs).

From the vaults: 45 years ago today, voters cast their ballots in one of the ugliest municipal elections in Toronto history, which involved a lot (and I mean a lot) of homophobia.

Here's my TVO @tvotoday.bsky.social story about the 1980 campaign.

NYC mayoral elections dept: from the last time a NYC mayoral candidate received over a million votes, the front page of the Nov 5, 1969 edition of the Daily News.

More on the that race, where incumbent John Lindsay lost the GOP primary, ran as a Liberal, and won.

Peeking through the window of the former Bay store in Eglinton Square (which was used as an outlet location in its final years) and was surprised to see just how much merch was still in there.

Ah, the Great Canadian Bagel. Bagels of my teen years in Essex County. When I didn’t feel like a bag of Montreal style bagels I used to buy these frequently when they had a location in Leaside before LRT construction pushed it out
