A thing I've been mulling over for a while:
- if you have a favourite airport in your country you are flying too much.
- if you can rate airports all over your continent you are flying way too much
- if you can rate airports all over the world you are flying way WAY too much
Climate change is real

Reform has received more than £2.3 million from the oil & gas sector, 92% of it's donations. Wes Streeting and other Cabinet ministers have reveived significant donations from the private health sector. We have to reform party finances to get politicians working for us not just these businesses.

Great article here:

“The fact that children in 2025 are suffering from diseases that should have been consigned to history is not just a public health failure. It is a moral failure. Access to vaccines is not a privilege — it is a human right.”

Artists PLEASE I am begging you to use alt text on your art. I want to support you and RT your art but I'm not going to if it does have alt text, and there are so, so many people who feel the same

According to this 50,000 people in the US died of Covid in 2024. It seems like an extraordinarily high figure for something that is no longer supposed to be a concern - even if you leave LC aside.
Why you should continue to get the COVID-19 vaccine every year!

Looks useful, but they may not cover an important topic: if you need a #map for your book, where do you go? Many authors, faced with that question, have no idea where to start.

If that’s you, I can help! I draw maps for a living, and specialize in maps for academic books.

Lots of lovely photos. Really lots, and really lovely.
Feel like I need to deploy some photography for a mood break. I do need to process photos from the trip I just did (all credit to @bryanhansel.com for leading an excellent workshop even if conditions weren't what we wanted), so these will be from the past. I'd add as I have time and there's interest

They're right, and they don't say it, but it's in their interest too, quite apart from the fact that extreme wealth inequality is destabilising to society, their future workers are literally growing up stunted physically and intellectually. Austerity is sabotaging our future.
