White men are dangerous because they are always willing to give other dangerous white folks the benefit of the doubt. They don’t believe shit is on fire until it is literally burning them, and by the time that happens, the rest of us are dead.
don’t shoot me but my contentious view is that it probably wasn’t a Nazi salute - despite obvious similarities - and we shouldn’t claim to *know* that it was one

Octavia Butler couldn’t see the future. She saw what was happening in front of her and, in addition to studying the past, was able to imagine where it would lead. It’s important to tell the truth about her because mythologizing her is a disservice to her legacy.

“In order to shoot off one email per week for a year, ChatGPT would use up 27 liters of water, or about one-and-a-half jugs… that means if one in 10 U.S. residents—16 million people—asked ChatGPT to write an email a week, it’d cost more than 435 million liters of water.”

The early days of Covid showed us that if the government wanted - they could take care of everyone. They could provide a universal basic income, accommodate the needs of disabled people who had been pleading for remote healthcare & other services for years. They could keep us fed, safe and housed

“We cannot talk about COVID in the past tense.

“It’s still with us, it still causes acute disease and Long COVID, and it still kills.

“The world might want to forget about COVID-19, but we cannot afford to.”
