I think you should be ashamed of yourselves. When an elderly passenger brings an OFFICIALLY correct sized cabin bag and you charge them £60 at the gate for it being “too big”…I would suggest your “measuring” device is actually smaller than guidelines to enable charging extra. You’re a disgrace.
