Almost fully retired primary teacher but still doing some supply days. I love books, travel, giraffes and my grandchildren.
Reading is really such an important area to be addressed- if we can successfully support a pupil to read well- we stand a chance of success with everything else.

To be fair-and I have no love for Gove-these problems existed before he came to power. Badly structured differentiation by task was around in the late 90s early 2000s. I remember having to create at least 3 different tasks/worksheets and that was even after they had been put into ability sets. 🤷‍♀️

Oh dear Lord. Not SEAL it was torture- Enquiry based learning, Brain Gym, Learning Styles- all made my life very difficult. I count myself lucky I missed deBono’s hats. 🤦‍♀️

I think this is always the problem- everyone is pushed to jump on the bandwagon without thinking about the consequences and without a plan to evaluate the effectiveness of the next big thing.

I was helping in my daughter’s reception class and her teacher said I’d be good at it. This was in the early 90s.

I’m not on instagram but finding the constant stream of negativity directed to my feed a real problem on X. I don’t have the time to weed it all out so will be migrating over here fully.

Yes it did get busy but once the coach tours leave it’s much quieter. We loved the model village and the maze but the motor museum was lots of fun too. 🥰
