Let's not kill the good projects because they aren't the best. Incremental positive change is still positive change!

I resonate with calls for anger and outrage. Believe me, I do. But the most effective and transformative movements in history were led by people committed to non-violent, love-forward methodologies. Gandhi, MLK, etc. We honor the Hortmans by putting anger aside and pulling together in solidarity.

Would that be the supposedly disenfranchised, able-bodied young men that just voted in the classless clown and his midget car-full of sycophants? Boy, are they gonna love this news!

The soaring tariff-induced import prices will get their attention first!

Aside from the excellent legal points made here, can we consider the astonishing lack of basic morality in deporting a mother with a sick child away from the caregivers trying to save the child's life? Who are we now? This is Christianity? Indefensible.

I am strangely reminded of the Fox News-enflamed outrage over Obama's tan suit. Of course, he didn't wear it to the most important funeral in recent Catholic history, against the request of the Vatican to wear a dark suit. His infraction was on a business-as-usual day

I am so glad you posted this essay! I have read some Baldwin, but I've never seen this. I have tried to honestly examine the white privilege I've always had throughout my life, but this puts the definition of white in full sunlight! I have much more introspection to do! Thank you!

Not that it will make a difference going forward, but I commend him on pitching the ethical position on this fundamentally imperative topic to his tribe. Any time we get someone to speak up for the rule of law in a public forum, we must give them props, if not in general; at least in particular.

American history is full of examples of stupidity, gullible masses, and bad actors. I just hoped that in the age when everyone has a camera in their hands all the time, we would see, know, and react. Our shame is felt only by the people not being complicit in the events that are unfolding.

Love to know when Congress appropriated the money to pay El Salvador for this. Pretty sure tRump misappropriation from somewhere designated for something actually beneficial.

I agree with his premise on viewing the attack on democracy as one coordinated attack on many institutions. Also, that we need to organize and get moving. Any time wasted on the sidelines clutching our pearls may cost us in the end!

I want to know when Congress appropriated a $6 million per year deal with El Salvadore. Does DJT have a piggy bank he broke open? De he misappropriation some other funds for his gulag?

Just got word that here in Texas, home of the Free and informed, 50 vaccine clinics have closed throughout the state where a measles vaccine was formerly available. All for one, and none for y'all!

I haven't been comfortable with any style of execution for a long time. Opening up the door to state approved executions scare me even more right now.
