people should really ask florida democratic rep @repmoskowitz.bsky.social why he's backing a resolution to honor a man who called for joe biden to be killed

House GOP plans to honor Charlie Kirk, who called for Biden's execution
House Republicans are preparing to pass a resolution to honor the life and work of bigot and conspiracy theorist Charlie Kirk, who was killed last week. The planned honor is the latest element in ...

Hi @ezrakleinbot.bsky.social, we're friendly, we've been on each other's shows. We both agree Kirk's murder is horrific. Q: was Kirk "practicing politics in exactly the right way" when he called for me to be deported because he didn't like my Covid views on MSNBC?

The murder of Charlie Kirk was criminal, wrong, and should be condemned.

And Charlie Kirk was a horrible, hateful man who spent his life radicalizing young people to embrace their worst demons by targeting women, people of color, immigrants, and the marginalized.

I refuse to sanitize him.

My main observation from the last few hours of monitoring US social media is that Democrats are universally denouncing political violence and calling for calm while MAGA are escalating language and openly lusting for retribution against broad categories of people they identity as their enemies.

You know what's crazy? There have been no op-eds or editorial statements in major newspapers this year calling on Trump to resign. None calling for his impeachment. None asking if he's medically fit to be in office. Not one in any major newspaper all year.

Stunning charts show how disproportionately the Roberts Court favors the Trump regime.

"This pattern exemplifies what scholars call 'autocratic legalism'—the systematic weaponization of legal institutions to consolidate power while maintaining the appearance of legal process."

CBS canceled Colbert’s show just THREE DAYS after Colbert called out CBS parent company Paramount for its $16M settlement with Trump – a deal that looks like bribery.

America deserves to know if his show was canceled for political reasons.

Watch and share his message.

Schiff has voted with Trump 32 times since January. He gets on TV to talk tough and then literally votes for Trump’s agenda.
Donald Trump doesn't care about law enforcement.

He cares about power.

It's why he's deploying military personnel to Los Angeles. And it's why he pardoned the violent criminals who attacked Capitol Police on January 6th.

Schiff literally just voted to advance Trump’s pick for Assistant Secretary of Defense.

You keep talking about how corrupt Trump is and then voting for his agenda.
The American public deserves to know that those serving at the highest levels of government are free from financial conflicts of interest.

Needless to say, this administration appears to be awash in such corruption.

I'm determined to get answers.

old great aunt prove her citizenship to vote in rural georgia, this definitely isn’t reminiscent of anything in the american past
🧵 There are a lot of misleading claims out there about the SAVE Act. Let me set the record straight: I voted for the SAVE Act for the simple reason that American elections are for Americans. Requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote is common sense.

Hi, I'm the guy who wrote the book "Administrative Burdens" and it's just objectively untrue that no one will face "unnecessary burdens" b/c
*non-citizens almost never vote!
*About 20M citizens don't have access to citizenship documents

SAVE solves a non-problem by burdening American citizens.
Maine's voting culture is the best in the nation. I am confident that under the SAVE Act, our state can both ensure that only citizens can cast ballots and that no one faces unnecessary barriers to registering to vote.

Remember when you convinced 9 other Democratic senators to betray the country and enable this like two weeks ago
While markets plunge and retirement accounts reel from Trump’s tariffs:

Elon and DOGE are taking a blowtorch to Social Security

They shut down local offices
They shut down phone services
They shut down website services
And now they’re proposing another round of mass layoffs

This is egregiously unacceptable, @washingtonpost.com.

Trump cannot do this. It's illegal. You know it! You say it!

And yet, you *still* give him the headline. This is journalistic malpractice, with democracy hanging in the balance.

I keep asking: Why does media and Congress treat Trump’s edicts like he can just wave them into reality? Why doesn’t NBC include anywhere in this piece that he CANNOT DO THIS without Congressional approval e.g. 2/3 support of the Senate, which he won’t get?

THIS IS MANUFACTURING COMPLIANCE!

A shutdown would give Donald Trump the keys to the city, state, and country.

Musk has said he wants a shutdown, and reporting has shown he is already making plans to use the shutdown to expedite his destruction of key government programs and services.
