Queer Latino American comic book artist, illustrator, and poet.
I’m a simple human working to be of service to my community.
One of my favorite things about having friends that are artists is receiving their own little pieces of art over the mail. It’s always magical✨

Thank you Carole! c:

I usually write a lot when I journal. However today it felt right to do a sketch of a couple of subjects and just write down some words.
Sending everyone good energy~

Reading environmental advocacy books recently is inspiring me to draw science facts. So much fun but funny because it slows down my reading process lol

Fun science fact: We know that the sun shines, but everything that has a temperature, also shines. Everything!

Source: Recently I’ve been reading the book Human Nature by Kate Marvel for my local environmentalist book club.
I will share the journey✨

My main character in the long watercolor comic that I’ve been working on. He fights for justice using non-violence.
More to come soon!

“Arrangement in Grey and Black No.1” or mostly known as “Whistler’s Mother”. Above all the wonderful historical and artistic details of this portrait, it’s message is what stays with me. A message that is relevant and beautifully said by Thomas Schlesser: “…to paint is above all to love.”

This piece by Francisco Goya, “The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters” or “The Dream of Reason Produces Monsters”, reminds me of the unanswered question that my teacher taught me: Did he mean that lack of reason opens the door to monster or that the fantasies of human reason go as far as deep evil?

In a society that glorifies many of the things that are hurting our planet, we should practice glorifying what’s real and also magical.

Also, a low key intro of one of my characters from a longer story that I’m working on. They are happy to share this message of care❤️

Yesterday was the last day that the Rainbow Bridge in the downtown of my small city will be seen. It will be “erased” tomorrow. I’m grieving but I’m also fueled and ready to continue the good fight. We will continue protecting queers, immigrants, the unhoused, Palestinians, and our community.

A quick ink illustration in my sketchbook inspired by the book La Mesa Herida.

Without spoiling the book, the main character reminds me of the strength needed during difficult political times. Her audacity to protect what’s valuable to her. She holds space for fear but continues.

I decided to take a break from working on my long comic book story to play a little bit with my oil pastels and just have fun.

This scene in My Neighbor Totoro always reminds me to not loose that sense of wonder and playfulness to when creating.

Slow and steady.
Do things I enjoy.
Sit in silence more often
And listen to the rain
To be able to be of service.
This is how life and the state of our planet is inspiring me to live and this is how I want to use this space.
Slow and steady.

During the current dark times that we live in, I’m choosing family and community. Caring for my loved ones more than ever.
This is a card a made for my sister for her birthday. In it I draw and paint her as her child self somewhere in Belgium; our future destination.

A short one-page story I made with two of my main characters from my big comic project.
Title: Magical Portals

My inspiration was using 4 random objects found at a thrift store to create a one-page comic story.

It was fun to stretch my mind for a bit!

This is a little scene I painted from Miyazaki’s film Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind.

Something I love about Nausicaä is that its focus was on environmentalism. Miyazaki’s work brings into balance the difficult reality of their world and the ever present hope.

Coming back to share and consume mindfully. Not too little, not to much. Just what’s necessary.

Here is a quick drawing from my sketchbook.

An ink iteration of my character Trash Panda Princess. She lives in a magical cottage deep in the swamp. She is fearless, wise, and adventurous. In a way, she is a character that protects me in a spiritual way. She is a warrior that doesn’t need armor or weapons because her truth is a change maker.

A quick ink piece from my sketchbook that reminds me of my youngest sister and my niece. The magical girls in my life❤️

One of my main characters in development! He is part of a sci-fi comic book related to protecting the environment and how we make peace or find balance in a technological world. He is dear to my heart. Part of him is similar to me and part of him is my complete opposite. I love him!

A digital iteration of my character Trash Panda Princess. I love the idea behind this comic book scene because it’s all about exploration, adventure, curiosity, and inter-dimensional PORTALS! I love portals lol
