Excited to share my latest paper in @natureportfolio.nature.com Natural Hazards!

Our study shows that ~80% of flood events along U.S. East & Gulf coasts are compound, driven by multiple drivers. These events result in median property losses 26× and crop losses 76× higher than single-driver floods.

New analysis from Climate Central found that 2024 storms’ wind speeds increased by up to 28 miles per hour, boosting their destructive power.

The US federal government issued two disaster declarations for floods in 2000. So far this year, it has issued 66.

It was an amazing experience witnessing the solar eclipse today. As we were in #Orlando, we couldn't see the total solar eclipse, but we were able to see 57% of it.

I captured the moment on my #iPhone, and the picture turned out to be great!

It has been an incredible week at AGU2023 in San Francisco! Full of insightful presentations, engaging discussions and meeting with old/new friends.
I also had the opportunity to present a research poster on the socioeconomic impacts of compound flooding - the engagement and feedback were amazing.

Yesterday, I presented our study on assessing contributions of hydrometeorological drivers to socioeconomic impacts of compound extreme events at 2023 ASEMFL Annual Meeting. This event was an enriching experience, bringing together diverse group of scientists in engineering, science & medical fields

Our collective “thank you” emails are adding to climate change by 16,433 tonnes of carbon a year! These are the emails you send when you just want to say thank you in response to another email.

Our team working hard to analyze the complex patterns of compound flooding in NY, during National Water Center SI2023.

By using hydrologic & hydrodynamic coupled modeling and Machine Learning, we're trying to understand the key drivers of flooding events in under different Climate Change scenarios.
