That's so sick. Damn I love scroll wheels and knobs.

I totally got this new Keychron M5 vertical mouse because it had a second scroll wheel, on the side.

But with a little prompting AI will gladly strike far into the deep tension of disreality & not being that lord emperor Dobbs's reign bespeaks,

Bob Dobbs lives.

Alas I couldn't think of any great quips and neither could the AI.

Anyone else a big user of VESA quick release stands?

I'm converting my few remaining un-setup monitors & arms to them now, some of the lighter stuff that was using tablet mounts on 1/4" screw mounts.

My kingdom for a planet where every review includes actual details on performance! Usable watts output is so hard to find, so rarely covered!

So much "It charged my phone 2.5X"; oh screw off Jimmy, that is *not* a real review.

& Ya'll went so much further! Charge input! Yes!! Energy density! 💯

Ya'll, I haven't had a Little Debbie Zebra Cake in probably >20 years, but this was totally what I'd grab then gift-economy distribute in highschool. And and and... I just found an (unopened) box, free, on the metro home! The gods favor us!

Rather than buying anything I scraped together a decent new monitor arm from parts, yay. Solid feeling build yay.

the support bars arent bad. ideally I want a thin table I can slide directly up to and under. the bar here goes down 1.5", and it's pretty acceptable. otherwise being under it is fine, not much to get tangled in, and nicely wide enough to scoot under.

ThinkPad TrackPoint keyboards you've served me well but some day I gotta go nice and tented with my around-town gear.

Like, it's a pretty good outline of the things, & fairly filled in good pictures of the scene (an early sample included). Didn't delay at all to get it hammered down. The Year of Dreaming Dangerously (2012).

Excavating this deep cooked (by accident) pizza and feel like yeah this is one that Ask A Navy Seal would be good on!

Attempt #5 worked though! Passive coupler + found a DisplayPort to usb-c female adapter!

And 0.8m usb-c cable. Was wishing I had some better usb-c patch cables, shorter. But it worked! That active coupler needed to go.
September 16, 2025 at 6:09 PM
Oops, attempt #3,

But uhh, that active coupler?

I lament to report it is in fact possible to Stop The Signal.

Once again barely pulling success from the lion's jaw. Yesterday, it was trying to run a rapidly fraying shifter cable through my bike.

That absolutely pathetic good for nothing tiny tiny tiny rubber band I've kept in the rubber band bowl? Clinched it!

Shown on a burr, but also used at cable start

Probably not where I should go to for council right now, but it's been sitting out in a visible spot to de-tsunduku. And Mark Fisher showed up yesterday in a psychology v (implicitly) Marcuse article.

YouTube Music doing a Chromecast audio session was indeed burning juice, so was Chrome.

Found developer settings's GPUWatch which has a CPU & GPU usage monitor, & either app running was high. Post reboot though Chrome is much better!

Was kind of hopeful, thinking maybe perhaps possibly camera-based adaptive screen control was implemented smartly, a low res photo every 5s or so.

But man my phone crushed it's battery today. Demolished it. & would barely charge when plugged in. Warm warm warm. Camera sensor notably warm. 🥵

Bye! 👋

It'd be neat if as an org we could mark deprecated parts of the dom we didn't want folk using. Even better, here's our taxonomy of the 353 properties on document.body (Steve's is pretty good though!).
