It’s easier to just tell people that I don’t like movies than it is to explain why Carpenter’s THE THING is better than SAVING PRIVATE RYAN.
4/31 DEMONIC (2021) micro review: Carly’s comatose mother can only be reached via a virtual reality rig. Visiting her is easy but she’s possessed! Great premise ruined by poor execution, poor logic, and dull effects.

Demonic (2021) – REVIEW When Demonic came out, I was very excited for it. I’m a fan of Blomkamp’s District 9 and his Oats Studios shorts. The trailer led me to believe that the film was going…

3/31 BYSTANDERS (2024) micro review: Men rape & release women into the woods to be hunted. Hunters become the hunted when bystanders stop to help. Micro-budget slasher with micro-budget problems that is surprisingly not bad! Interesting story and characters make it watchable

2/32 Booger (2023) micro review: Anna’s friend dies in an accident and their friendly stray cat bites her leading to some gruesome changes and delayed grief. Solid indie body horror that uses metaphor to great effect.

1/31 YOUR MONSTER micro review: Laura is at a low point her in life. The monster that lives in her closet helps her get back on top via friendship, emotional support & violence. Not super horrific, but a great story with a monster & a mending heart at its core.

Your Monster (2024) – REVIEW
It’s October! It’s time to attempt to watch 31 new-to-me horror movies in a month. I’ve done it before and I can do it again! To kick things off, I decided to go light with a movie that HBO has tag…

CLOWN IN A CORNFIELD microreview -

Teens are hassled by the olds in a small town & blamed for everything. Then clowns start killing them! CIAC offers some fun but not enough. Some scares but not enough. Cringe dialogue and a predictable twist push it into the C- / D+ range.
