Apropos of nothing, and as a moderator of the @codetv.dev Discord, I'm happy to announce an impromptu contest! We need you to draw the new CodeTV mascot: @jason.energy, in a Squirrel-style wingsuit. The sketch that gets the most faves, I'll buy a coffee or something.

LIVE! Developer communities are back (?)
I've been hearing a tone shift from tech companies lately, and it seems to me that developers are about to be a focus again. Let's talk about it, and what it might mean.

related to this: 2026 is going to be the weirdest one yet (positive) for CodeTV. big, fun, silly things in early discussions
if the discussions and calls I've been having lately are any indication, we're about to see significant renewed focus on developer communities. reality is setting in and companies are realizing AI is not a miracle; it's a tool, and tools are only valuable if and when people use them to build things

I survived! next long-haul flight I think I might swallow my pride and get a donut pillow or something because these airline seats are hell on a tailbone 😅
jet lag is keeping me awake until ~3am, so naturally I booked a flight that requires me to leave for the airport at 3:30am
hall of fame shitty travel decisions by me 😭
